Blogging Should Be A Resource for Your Business

What is the point of blogging for your business?

It doesn’t directly bring in any revenue for the business, so why bother?

Did you know companies that blog have 55% more website visitors than those who do not blog? (HubSpot) And who says you can’t acquire new customers from your blog? That person is wrong. If you would like to see the long list of statistics that prove the effectiveness of blogging, you can check out this list of Marketing Statistics from HubSpot.

If you want to promote your business and reach a broader audience, one of the wisest things you can do is to share your expertise. Blog writing is such a logical way to show off that expertise while attracting people to your website where they can buy something for you, opt into an email list, or contact you.  Regular blogging helps the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) of your website, it provides a resource to your customers and prospects, and it gives you an outlet to express the impact of your business.  The only downfall is that it takes up some of your time and energy… then again, you may have been previously wasting that energy on something that was even less useful.

To further support my clients, partners, and prospective clients, I host a monthly #LiveChat for small business owners. Each month has a different topic for us to discuss as a group. April’s topic was (big surprise) blogging for business. We had a small group gather virtually to discuss the basics such as types of blog posts and headlines, as well as branding and SEO. Check out the highlights of that discussion by watching the video below.
