Let’s Celebrate Failure in 2017

Yes, you read it right. Let’s celebrate failure.

I say this from my heart and with all of the best intentions that we, as humans, are terrified of failing. It is that fear which holds us back from growing and being successful.

I’m scared more often than I admit. Running your own business is hard, and it can be scary to face failures sometimes. I’m still working on myself and my business. With that in mind, my new years resolution is to consistently celebrate failures – not so much as a party, but as an opportunity. Let me explain why…

A dear friend once explained her personal philosophy to me about failure. It is something she instilled in her daughter and all children she comes into contact with today. We are taught at a young age to fear failure. Failing represents not achieving a goal, making someone else unhappy, or making yourself unhappy. That is depressing.

Celerate Failure, new years resolutions, small business, entrepreneurs, business owners

However, those who are taught to celebrate failure and learn from are taking a step forward toward success – progressing further toward a goal or achievement. I invite you to join me on a journey to retrain our brains to embrace failure and maybe rename it opportunity.

I expects some things will get messed up this year. Since I want to grow, I promise to pause and celebrate my failures because I want to learn from them and adjust my outlook. One day I want to wake up and realize how far I’ve come from where I was in January 2017 when I first began this journey.

There will be many changes in my life and business this year, many experiments, trials, errors, and failures along the way. I hope you’ll cheer me on. And if you need a cheerleader, I’m happy to step up and help you celebrate your failures too.
